Hanley Intern Joins Maine Medical Association
MMA members and staff is proud to welcome Hajna Nagy to our offices, both virtual and otherwise this summer. Hajna is part of the Hanley Center’s summer Undergraduate Healthcare Leadership Internship (UHLI) Program. We asked her to introduce herself to you. "Hi everyone! My name is Hajna Nagy and I am your 2020 Daniel Hanley Health Leadership intern for this summer. I graduated from Maranacook Community High School and am currently a rising junior at Bowdoin College, double majoring in Government & Legal Studies and Environmental Studies with a minor in Gender, Sexuality, & Women’s Studies. I will be working primarily with Dan Morin as part of the government affairs and communications department – although I am eager to explore all parts and functions of MMA. I applied to work with MMA this summer because I am very passionate about public health, policy-making, and social justice, all of which intertwine in the MMA’s mission. Specifically, I want to work on expanding and improving people’s access to proper healthcare, regardless of socioeconomic class, race, or gender. I think it is clearer now more than ever, as the current COVID-19 pandemic exposes flaws in the healthcare system and public health disparities, why and how we need change on a structural level. I am extremely excited to begin working with you all and exploring how to achieve this action!" < Previous Article | Next Article > [ return to top ] |
