The Hill this week reported on Harvard Global Health Institute research showing Maine as one of only 17 states meeting COVID-19 testing targets, and one of only 14 doing enough to “mitigate the spread” of COVID-19.

Maine CDC Issues Maine Health Alert Network (HAN) for COVID-19 Testing Specimens

The Maine CDC Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory (“HETL”) has received several specimens for COVID-19 testing that do not have the appropriate paperwork attached. Federal rules under CLIA require HETL to only run tests that are accompanied by complete paperwork.

CARES Act Provider Relief Fund Medicaid Payments Information

The United States Department of Health and Human Services is currently distributing CARES Act Provider Relief Fund Payments to Medicaid and CHIP providers and safety net hospitals. This funding comes from the CARES Act and the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act.
