COVID Practice Provider Relief Fund: Deadline to Apply is July 20, 2020

On June 9, 2020, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the distribution of fifteen billion dollars from the Provider Relief Fund to eligible providers who (1) participate in their state's Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and (2) have not received a payment from the Provider Relief Fund General Distribution.

DHHS Adopts New SUD MAT Rule

In March 2019, Governor Mills signed into law a Bill passed by the Maine Legislature that, among other provisions, directed the repeal of the lifetime 24-month coverage and payment limit under MaineCare for buprenorphine and  naloxone combination, and methadone for the treatment of addiction. By removing the lifetime limit, members may access MAT with methadone for as long as medically necessary, with no lifetime cap on services.

WHO Weekly Epidemiological Update - 1

For the week ending August 16th, over 1.8 million new COVID-19 cases, and 39,000 new deaths, were reported to WHO. This brings the cumulative total to 21.2 million confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 761,000 deaths. In the past seven days, the number of reported daily cases rapidly increased with an average of 260,000 cases and 5,500 deaths.
