Registration Open: MMA Virtual General Membership Meeting

The Maine Medical Association’s 167th (Virtual) Annual Membership Meeting is taking place Wednesday, October 14, 2020, from 5:30PM to 7:00PM. Thank you to all our members who participated in the recent annual session SurveyMonkey poll.

Last month, the MMA’s Executive Committee and Annual Session Planning Committee made the difficult decision not to proceed with an in person 2020 Annual Session. Like many organizations, we are trying to be flexible and adapt to the changing environment in which we live today. The decision on several factors:

1. We are concerned about the recent rise in COVID-19 cases in areas of our nation;

2. We do not believe that the circumstances, therefore, are appropriate for MMA to present an Annual Session theme of “Maine’s Lessons Learned from the COVID-19 Pandemic;”

3. At a time when all organizations are examining bias and trying to be more sensitive to diverse religious, ethnic, and cultural values, we do not want to present a meeting that conflicts with Rosh Hashanah.

The 2020 Virtual General Membership Meeting will include consideration of:

  • Resolutions by the Public Health Committee;
  • Report of Committee on Nominations; other Committee & Section Reports;
  • presentation of the 2021 MMA Proposed Budget; and
  • Award Presentations for the Mary Floyd Cushman Award and the President’s Award for Distinguished Service.

We hope you will join us for this annual business meeting of the Association.  There is no fee for the meeting, but registration is required. Information for Registration for Annual Session is live on the website.
