AAP Calls for Universal Masking in Schools; MPHA Webinar “Back to School Safely” In updated
guidance for the 2021-22 school year, the American Academy of Pediatrics
strongly recommends in-person learning and urges all who are eligible to be
vaccinated to protect against COVID-19. However, the leading national pediatrician
group added a recommendation that everyone older than age 2 wear masks,

The Maine Vaccine Board voted to include two new vaccine products to the approved list of available vaccines supplied through the Maine Immunization Program (MIP).
The newly approved vaccines are:

Philips Respironics announced a voluntary
recall for certain CPAP, BiLevel PAP, and mechanical Ventilator Devices due
to issues related to deterioration of the sound abatement foam used in these

Debt in U.S. BRIEF SUMMARY: The Department of Health and Human Services - Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (DHHS) and the Maine Department of Education (DOE) are jointly proposing these routine technical rule changes to implement P. L. 2019, Ch. 154: An Act to Protect Maine Children and Students from Preventable Disease by Repealing Certain Exemptions from the Laws Governing Immunization Requirements (the “Act”). The Act prohibits the rule from including any provision governing medical exemptions and repeals the exemption from required immunization for school students who object, based solely on a sincere religious belief or philosophical reason, effective September 1, 2021, with exemptions for certain students.
