Increasing HPV Vaccination Rates in Clinical Practice:

The
goal of this online learning module is to provide an easily accessible, quality
improvement resource for pediatricians, family clinicians, practice staff, and
other quality improvement healthcare professionals to increase HPV vaccination
rates in their clinical practice.
HPV
and HPV vaccination educational resources, tools and quality improvement
methodology will be shared and explained to provide a step-by-step online
teaching module to help increase HPV vaccinations rates – thus preventing six
different types of HPV-associated cancers.
Provider and clinical staff
education is an evidence-based intervention, and education on HPV, HPV
vaccinations and the change in messaging that HPV vaccination is cancer
prevention will positively impact provider and clinical staff recommendations
for HPV vaccinations.
Learning Objectives:
• Understand
the important role of HPV vaccination in preventing HPV infections and
HPV-associated cancers
• Understand
the rationale for starting to educate and vaccinate adolescents at ages 9-10
years-old with the goal to complete the series by age 13
• Make a
strong, effective recommendation at the same time and same day as other
adolescent vaccines
• Effectively
communicate with patients and parents to provide compelling information and
answer questions about HPV vaccinations
• Learn to
use quality improvement methodology with evidence-based interventions to
improve HPV vaccination rates
• Describe
how to use data to promote continuous quality improvement and measure progress
