The Governor’s Opioid Response
Seminar Webinar Series continues on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. featuring the OPTIONS Program. The first year of the OPTIONS program
has been completed and this presentation will review the data from this
program, but more importantly provides the opportunity for two OPTIONS Liaisons
and the Chief of Rumford Police Department to highlight the work happening on
the ground.
The Overdose Prevention Through
Intensive Outreach Naloxone and Safety (OPTIONS) initiative is a coordinated
effort of the Maine Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) and other state agencies
to improve the health of Mainers using substances. The OPTIONS co-responder
initiative embeds substance use disorder liaisons, who are licensed behavioral
health clinicians within local Public Safety agencies in every county across
Maine.
Speakers include Sybil Mazerolle
from the Office of Behavioral Health, Glenn Gordon an OPTIONS liaison for
Oxford County, Kate Dowd an OPTIONS liaison for Waldo County, and Tony
Milligan, Police Chief of Rumford. Gordon Smith, Director of Opioid Response
will moderate the discussion.
