UNE Graduates First Class of Dentists

Sixty-two students received the Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.D.M.) degree.

The University of New England recently graduated its first class from the College of Dental Medicine, a group of 62 students.  The College is the first dental school in Northern New England having been founded in 2013.  47% of the students who have announced their first career plans have stated their intention to practice in New England.  24 members of this class are from Maine and at least 11 of those have stated their intention to stay in Maine to practice or to obtain further professional training.  Several others have expressed a desire to return to Maine to practice following residency programs or other specialty training elsewhere.
