MaineCare Enrollment Far Below Expectations

MaineCare enrollment following the expansion referendum and Governor Mills's executive order has been far below the 70,000 projected during the campaign.

MaineCare enrollment following the expansion referendum and Governor Mills's executive order has been far below the 70,000 projected by a nonpartisan state government agency during the campaign. Latest figures from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services indicate that approximately 26,000 people have signed up for the health care coverage.

Expansion advocates intend to use the county-based data to focus their enrollment efforts.
