In response to the expression of concerns from physicians, the Maine
Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) has modified its requirements for
password changes by its users, moving from a 3-month time limit to 6
months.
Gordon Smith, Esq., Maine's Director of Opioid Response, announced that the change will take place in the next few days. Users of the PMP will no longer have to change their passwords every three months. Instead, those changes (which are necessary to maintain the safety and integrity of the system) will only be required every six months.
This is one of several changes that will be put into place in the coming weeks.
