CDC to offer webinar on new law requiring Lead Testing for all 1 & 2 year olds - October 21

DHHS and the Maine CDC will be hosting a webinar and Q & A on the new state law, LD 976 that requires Universal Lead Testing for all children in Maine at ages 1 and 2 featuring Karyn Butts, MPH, Manager, Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Unit, and Andy Smith, SM, ScD, the CDC’s State Toxicologist. 

The webinar will be on Monday, October 21st from 12 noon- 1 pm via via zoom: https://zoom.us/j/8061423002 or phone +19292056099,,,8061423002#.  They are interested in hearing your questions, challenges, and opportunities around implementation of the law. The CDC’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Unit sent a statement to providers a few weeks ago with information and they are developing a FAQ document.
