NACCHO Seeks Board Nominations for Region VIII

NACCHO is seeking nominations to fill an open seat on NACCHO’s board of directors. NACCHO members who are chief executive officers of local health departments (LHDs) in the states of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, or Wyoming are eligible (nominees who are employees and members of their LHD’s management team and designated by the chief executive officer will also be considered). Educate Members of Congress about the Importance of LHDs over Recess

Congress will be in recess until Sept. 6, and they are only in Washington for eight days in September. NACCHO urges LHDs to promote the importance of LHDs by meeting with their Members of Congress while they are in their home districts. Learn more »

NACCHO has developed several policy statements on environmental health issues to help LHD leaders and staff articulate public health positions to decision-makers. Guidelines for Retail Food Establishments in Foodborne Illness Outbreaks

The Council to Improve Foodborne Outbreak Response (CIFOR), on which NACCHO serves as a co-chair, has released the CIFOR Industry Guidelines. The guidelines provide voluntary recommendations about the role of managers of retail food establishments in a foodborne illness outbreak investigation. Learn more »
