Dealer Alert: Possible Scam from Credit Card Processing Company

NADA has received a fax from a company called 1st Payment Systems (FPS), which is advertising a credit and debit card processing service. The fax suggests that the automotive industry, including “National Automotive Trade Associations,” has “partnered” with FPS to offer this service to dealers. Note: NADA has no relationship with FPS or any other provider of credit/debit card processing services. "Please use extra care when sharing credit card or other financial information with outside vendors," says William Price, NADA senior counsel and director of Legal Affairs.
