National Membership Call with Presidential Candidate Representatives

On Thursday, September 4 at 2:00 pm (Eastern), the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) will hold a national membership conference call with senior representatives of the Obama for President Campaign.

We will be joined by the Marshall Matz, Chair of the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee, Dallas Tonsager, Vice Chair of the committee and several other senior level surrogates and campaign staff.  The primary focus of this particular call will be the candidate’s platform and vision for small metropolitan and rural America.

Assistance Needed from Regional Development Organizations: NADO to Testify on EDA Reauthorization

Send Us Your EDA Project Examples!

On September 9, the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) is tentatively scheduled to testify before the Senate Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure on reauthorization of the Economic Development Administration (EDA).

Assistance is needed from the national network of regional development organizations to highlight the valuable role EDA resources play in generating and retaining jobs, leveraging private sector investments and providing critical technical and planning assistance to underserved communities.

In preparation for the hearing, NADO is seeking recent examples of EDA-funded projects – including, public works, economic adjustment, revolving loan fund, planning and other investments – to highlight in its Congressional testimony.

Regional development organizations are encouraged to share their examples of EDA-funded projects with NADO. Please forward examples to NADO Legislative Director Jason Boehlert at jboehlert@nado.org or call 202.624.8590.
