NAHB Continues to Push Congress on Housing Credit Legislation

NAHB continues meeting with congressional offices to encourage support for legislation in the House and Senate that will make the fixed 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credit permanent. This legislation, H.R. 3661 in the House and S. 1989 in the Senate, would also fix the 4% allocated credit for acquisition costs.

In recent weeks, two additional members of the key House Ways and Means Committee added their names as cosponsors to the House bill: Representatives Dave Reichert (R-Wash) and Devin Nunes (R-Cali), bringing the number of cosponsors to 14.

In addition, sponsors Pat Tiberi (R-Ohio) and Richie Neal (D-Mass), sent out last week a “dear colleague” letter urging their colleagues in the House to join them as cosponsors. This letter will greatly help NAHB's outreach to congressional offices.

NAHB will update the www.nahb.org/MFIndistrict page with additional resources, including talking points to use when meeting with your members of Congress.
