It’s not just Senator Baucus who is worried about how health reform is affecting our nation’s smaller employers. The House Small Business Committee held a hearing to discuss PPACA implementation this week too. More Money on the Way for High-Risk Pools?

The health reform law’s Preexisting Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP), which serves individuals who have serious medical conditions, have no access to employer-sponsored coverage and have been uninsured for at least six months, ran out of money in February. Medicaid: a Private Option?

Since the Supreme Court ruled last June that the federal government could not financially penalize states that elect not to expand their Medicaid program, states have been debating whether or not to expand the program as envisioned by PPACA.
