Hot off the Presses: Agencies Issue Clarifying Guidance About HRAs, FSAs and Other Employer Healthcare Arrangements

Many of you have been asking for clarification from the Administration about previously issued guidance concerning the possibility of employer groups using stand-alone HRAs to finance individual market coverage for employees. Today, the Department of Treasury issued Notice 2013-54, which emphatically clarifies that HRAs and other group health plan policies that might have been used by employees to purchase individual policies would be subject to the law’s market-reform requirements... Read More

It passed by a 235-191 vote on Thursday... Read More

The Obama Administration has been touting PPACA’s MLR rebates since the law’s inception and it looks like they are giving themselves a big pat on the back this week concerning rate review. In a report released by HHS it states that insurance rate oversight provision of the healthcare law helped consumers save $1.2 billion on insurance premium costs since 2011... Read More

Many large employers are assessing the options to comply with PPACA and avoid the penalties. Large employers are required to offer minimum essential coverage to 95% of full-time employees to meet the requirement of offering coverage. Minimum essential coverage (MEC) does not equal minimum value coverage... Read More
