Alliance to Fight the 40 Releases New Resources
This week, the Alliance to Fight the 40, a coalition on which NAHU serves as a steering committee member, released several new resources in its advocacy to permanently repeal the Cadillac/excise tax. The new video walks through the basics of the Cadillac tax and the infographic shows how the tax hurts working families’ budgets. The tax is a 40% excise tax on high-cost employer sponsored health coverage and is applied to the cost of applicable health benefits above set thresholds, estimated to be approximately $10,800 for single plans and $29,100 for family plans when the tax takes effect in 2020 under the two-year delay signed into law last year. As Congress prepares for its repeal-and-replace strategies of the ACA, NAHU and our coalition partners will continue our efforts to ensure that our priority issues are included as part of any efforts to reform the ACA.
