NAHU and the Alliance to Fight the 40, a coalition on which NAHU serves as a steering committee member, launched a new social media campaign this week to target several key congressional districts and push out our messaging via social media. One of our top priorities is to ensure that the employer-sponsored healthcare coverage that protects over 175 million Americans across the country remains an effective and affordable option. Previously, we have partnered with the Alliance to promote the repeal of the Cadillac/excise tax and issues surrounding the employer exclusion.
We need your help! We will be creating short messages on these critical issues in hopes that you will push them out via your social media channels. Why is this important? Members of Congress and their staff are increasingly relaying on social media to communicate with their constituents, making platforms like Twitter and Facebook an extremely effective way to be heard. While policymakers may not be aware of the number of calls to their offices, they are very likely to notice a rush of tweets or posts to their social media channels. With the popularity of these platforms, we’d like to engage our members to amplify our message regarding the Cadillac Tax and employer exclusion.
