NAHU is pleased that both the Cadillac/Excise and Health Insurance Taxes have been further delayed with the legislation enacted this week. With these issues fresh in the minds of legislators, the timing of this couldn’t be better to come to Washington, D.C. and lobby with us on the need for their permanent repeal. We will also continue our efforts to stabilize the individual market and address ongoing issues with employer-sponsored coverage like employer reporting. And with a newly installed HHS secretary, we’ll be urging Congress to put pressure on the Administration to have broker commissions removed from the medical loss ratio. If you want to be part of our efforts, then we urge you to register for NAHU's 28th Annual Capitol Conference, Shaping Healthcare's Future through Advocacy, this February 26-28 in Washington, DC. In celebration of the delay of the 40% Excise/Cadillac tax, use code CTAX when registering to save $40 on registration, the discount will expire at midnight January 26.
While you complete your Capitol Conference registration, we encourage you to register to attend the HUPAC/Vanguard Council Bowling Event on Sunday, February 25, from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. at Lucky Strike. The 3rd Annual Bowling Night requires a $50 contribution to HUPAC to attend, which will count toward your contribution level for the year. Attendance includes two drink tickets, appetizers and a game of bowling (including bowling shoes).
Additionally, you may also upgrade your conference registration to CapCon Plus, which provides access to audio recordings, synced to PowerPoint presentations of all breakout sessions, for an additional $99. Guests are invited to attend for a fee of $50, which includes two continental breakfasts and access to all general sessions. Please note that guests are not invited to breakout sessions or regional meetings and guests may not be NAHU members or health insurance industry professionals. |
