  • NAHU submitted comments to the Senate HELP Committee’s discussion draft legislation to lower healthcare costs, address surprise billing, and require disclosure of broker compensation.
  • The House Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing on Medicare-for-All legislation on June 12. Witnesses will include former CMS Administrator Donald Berwick, former deputy CMS administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, as well as a state marketplace CEO, Medicare expert, and a patient advocate.
  • The House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee will hold a hearing on surprise billing on June 12. NAHU submitted feedback to the committee last week in response to their bipartisan discussion draft legislation to address surprise billing.
  • NAHU encourages members to setup meetings with their federal legislators during the summer recess, from July 27 through September 8, to share personal perspectives on how our federal priorities are impacting agents and their clients.
  • NAHU will be hosting a special LIVE from NAHU webinar event on the ongoing legal challenges to the ACA and Trump Administration rulemaking on June 20 at noon Eastern. NAHU members are encouraged to attend this session through events sponsored by their local chapters.
