Part of NAHU's core mission is to advocate on behalf of its
members in the legislative arena. Advocacy is one of the primary functions of
NAHU. HUPAC is raising money for allocation to candidate campaigns that opens
more doors to educate and where our voices can be heard on our issues. The
Health Underwriters Political Action Committee (HUPAC) is the political
advocacy arm of NAHU. Since NAHU and similar organizations are prohibited by
law from making political contributions, HUPAC was created to allow contributors
to combine their financial support to candidates in order to help those running
for office that support our industry.
HUPAC is hosting two exciting events at this year’s virtual Convention!
- HUPAC
is hosting our 2021
NAHU Virtual 5k Race benefiting HUPAC's Administrative
Fund. This virtual
race can be done in the comfort of your own neighborhood and
can be completed any time from Friday, June 25, to Saturday, July 3.
Competitive participants can provide their timing and results to feed into
our race's virtual leaderboard.
- Whether or
not you are planning to attend Annual Convention, HUPAC is hosting two
renowned lobbyists from Tiber Creek Group at the HUPAC
Congressional Discussion. This event is exclusively for Capitol
Club-level donors. All Capitol Club-level donors will attend for free and
a link will be sent out shortly to sign up. If you are not currently a
Capitol Club-level donor and would like to become one, please click here and
up your donation level. You can always reach out to HUPAC Manager Nathan
Makla and have him up your donation level as well.
HUPAC would like to offer Zoom backgrounds to all HUPAC Donors to utilize at
Annual Convention. Please reach out to HUPAC Manager Nathan Makla at nmakla@nahu.org to
request the Zoom backgrounds. We hope you will use these backgrounds to signify
your extraordinary commitment to HUPAC. While many chapters can’t meet in
person for their conferences this year, they can still keep the tradition of
wearing ribbons alive – just virtually.
