DOL Issues Clarification about Exchange Notice Penalties

On Wednesday, September 11, the Department of Labor issued a Frequently Asked Question document that addressed the issue of penalties to employers that fail to provide their employees with notice of the exchanges by October 1. Welcome Back Congress

Subsidy Verification Bill Passes House

One thing the House did do this week was pass Representative Diane Black’s (R-TN) bill on subsidy verification. The bill, H.R. 2775, would mandate a verification program to make sure Americans don’t collect more exchange-based health insurance premium tax subsidies than they’re qualified for. HHS Releases Study on Rate Review

The Obama Administration has been touting PPACA’s MLR rebates since the law’s inception and it looks like they are giving themselves a big pat on the back this week concerning rate review.
