CEO Report

From the Desk of Dr. Kory Ward-Cook

As we welcome and enjoy the beauty and newness of Spring 2006, we hope that you have all had a pleasant and restful winter.  The NCCAOM staff has been very busy for the past few months with many projects including planning and hosting fourteen Item Writing Events throughout the country.  Since early February, the NCCAOM staff has been continuously reaching out to our candidates and Diplomates by providing updates on the status of our examinations as well as writing letters of support as they are requested.  By now most of you have received at least two forms of correspondence from us regarding either the item writing events or the upcoming June examinations.  These last few months we have devoted our entire staff to responding to all questions and comments from Diplomates, candidates, and school officials regarding our new examination administration process. O ur number one goal is customer satisfaction, and we hope that we are accomplishing  this for you.

In this issue of Diplomate News You Can Use, you will find many new updates and information about the organization such as the revised Code of Ethics and Disciplinary Review.  We also want to take the time to personally thank all of the Diplomates who graciously volunteered their time by participating in Item Writing Sessions offered throughout the country.  We had a record number of attendees in New York City with 75 Diplomates pitching in to write items for our exams. We are fortunate to have had such an outpouring of support and assistance from the AOM community. We thank every one of you for your words of encouragement and volunteerism.

We hope that you enjoy this issue of Diplomate News You Can Use. Please feel free to use the Forward-to-a-Friend feature to  forward this newsletter to your friends and colleagues.  They can also sign up to receive the newsletter each month.
