Infrared thermometer

Germany’s Micro-Epsilon Messtechnik GmbH and Co., with North American headquarters in Raleigh, N.C., launched the Optris CT glass infrared thermometer. The non-contact sensor measures the temperature of glass products and surfaces during production, as well as glass substrates used in the manufacturing of solar cell panels. It uses a 5.2-micrometer wavelength detector to measure temperatures from 212 degrees Fahrenheit up to 3,002 F. The thermometer has a stainless steel sensor head and can be used in ambient temperatures of up to 185 F without cooling, and to protect the laser aiming optics, has an automatic laser switch-off at 122 F. It comes with separate controller electronics for programming and display of measured temperature.
