Accelerating to Innovation

I learned recently that you can drive fast—very fast—on Minnesota’s highways, especially in a big, red Chevy Tahoe and when you use Waze, a handy, innovative traffic routing app. It wasn’t the car I rented, but after my initial protest, I was soon accelerating to multiple visits with member companies.

I’m struck by how different each company is, even when on paper they fit into one category or another—full service glass company, contract glazier, fabricator, manufacturer. Those who survived the lean years have emerged anew, and stronger. Adapting beyond survival mode meant shedding some types of work or customers and trying new approaches.
