NGA Considers Development of Industry-wide Processed Glass EPD

From Glass Magazine

During the 2019 National Glass Association Annual Conference, held Jan. 22-24 in Naples, Florida, the organization’s volunteer Fabricating Committee discussed developing an industry-wide environmental product declaration for processed glass.

An EPD is used to disclose the life cycle performance of a product, derived from a set of product category rules that measure the life cycle impacts of a product. The ongoing push for better building performance and sustainability, along with increasing demand for product transparency declarations, make EPDs an increasingly critical offering for glass companies. The industry-wide EPD would allow fabricators to provide transparency information to architects when requested.
