BREAKING NEWS: ASA Benefits and Resources Available Soon!

NGA is finalizing an agreement with the American Subcontractors Association (ASA) to be an ASA Alliance Partner Member. The agreement will provide NGA member companies with access to select ASA benefits and resources, such as: legislative representation on payment and contract issues, popular ASA resources Contract Negotiating Tips and Bid Proposal Addendum, and ASA articles and webinars. More information on the agreement will be sent by email to members next week, with access to ASA resources to begin in late February.

Annual Conference Tackles Bird-Friendly, Recycling and More

NGA members and industry technical leaders met in La Jolla, California, January 13-15, for NGA's Annual Conference 2020. Key topics on the agenda included bird-friendly glazing, glass recycling, glass rack tracking, and looking ahead to the next decade and beyond.  

The three-day conference included meetings of NGA’s Advocacy and Fabricating Committees, along with a Forming Committee update. Progress was made on many of the committees' current projects and resources under development. The Installing Committee will gather next month at the BEC Conference in Nashville.

BEC Conference: New Venue, New Schedule

The BEC Conference is less than five weeks away and the time is now to get engaged! Make plans to join your friends, colleagues and competitors alike for informative sessions that will bring you into the world of Glazing 2020: Advanced. Innovative. Complex.

    • The Conference concludes on Tuesday, March 3 at 3:30 pm with a [Glass] Design in Architecture panel presentation hosted by Architectural Record Publisher Alex Bachrach.

    2020 Economic Forecast: Your Top Five 2020 Questions Answered

    #1 Is the U.S. Headed into a Recession?
    The U.S. economy is slowing but is unlikely to go into recession, say economists. According to Moody’s Analytics, the probability of recession through the first quarter of 2020 is less than 10 percent, which is noticeably down from the odds published earlier in 2019. “Do I think there will be recession in the next 12 months? It’s highly unlikely. After that, it depends on the various risk factors,” says Cristian deRitis, deputy chief economist, Moody’s Analytics. Key risk factors to watch, per deRitis, include everything from an escalation in the trade war to a stock market correction to a no-deal Brexit.
