Labor challenges are all too familiar in the window and door industry. Experienced workers are retiring faster than new hires can fill jobs, and skills are going with them. Young people aren’t interested in the trades, nor do they possess the necessary skills. For years, retail window and door business have sought insight on training approaches and best practices that can provide a plan of attack to combat this challenge.

But what happens when you – as a business owner or top manager – are the labor challenge?

What will happen if you unexpectedly leave the business? Is retirement in your near future? Are there tasks that only you know how to do or key knowledge that only you hold? Are next level staff ready to step up to the plate?
