Cummings Sworn in as Chairman of NJBankers

Kevin Cummings, president and chief executive officer of Investors Bank, was sworn in as the 2012-2013 chairman of NJBankers Board of Directors at last week's Annual Conference.  In addition, Robert King, Senior Vice President of Roma Bank, assumed office as First Vice Chairman and Stewart E. McClure, Jr., president & CEO of Somerset Hills Bank, assumed office as Second Vice Chairman.  In addition, newly elected members of the board took the oath of office.

Earlier, the Board of Directors named Thomas J. Holt, senior vice president of Bank of America; Christopher Martin, chairman, president and CEO of The Provident Bank; and Gerald L. Reeves, president and CEO of Sturdy Savings Bank, at-large members of the Executive Committee for the 2012-2013 year.

Liseno Honored with Forrey-Gallman Award at Annual Conference

The NJBankers Board of Directors awarded Katherine J. Liseno, president and CEO of Metuchen Savings Bank, the 2012 Forrey Gallman Award.  The award is bestowed upon members that have demonstrated long-term outstanding service to the New Jersey banking industry. Read more

108th Annual Conference Wrap Up

Thanks to the 515 members, associates and guests that attended the NJBankers’ 108th Annual Conference last week.  By all accounts, it was another successful event with wonderful attendance and speakers. Congratulations to Alex Grinewicz/Columbia Bank and Stan Koreyva Jr./Amboy Bank, winners of the prize drawing for conference evaluations.  Congratulations also to Gary Schwartz/MTS Software Solutions and Emily Navarro/Travelers Insurance Co., winners of the drawing from evaluations submitted by conference exhibitors. Fed Beige Book: Overall Economic Activity Expands at a Moderate Pace

Second FRB District small to medium-sized banks reported increased loan demand in all categories to a more widespread degree than at any time since the mid 1990s.
