Fed Beige Book: Economic Activity Continues to Gradually Expand

The New York District noted that shrinking spreads were observed particularly in commercial and industrial loans as well as in commercial mortgages. The New York District also reported unchanged credit standards and cited declining delinquency rates. Both the New York and Philadelphia Districts observed growth in most lending categories.    Read more

Agencies Publish Basel III Proposals in Federal Register

The OCC, Fed, and the FDIC are seeking comment on three notices of proposed rulemaking that propose to revise and replace the agencies’ regulatory capital rules. The proposed revisions to the capital rules were published in the Federal Register on August 30, 2012.   Read more

NJBankers Website Will be Unavailable on Thursday, September 13 for Upgrade

NJBankers will be upgrading its database and website onThursday, September 13, which will result in it being unavailable for a portion of that day.  The upgrade involves employing newer technology that will enhance NJBankers to better serve its members.   Read more

CFPB Extends Comment Period for Proposed Changes to Definition of Finance Charge

The proposed rule eliminates exceptions that exclude common costs (such as title insurance) from the finance charge. According to the agency, the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) would then better reflect the overall cost of credit.   Read more

W. Christopher Horn Joins Colonial American Bank as Senior Vice President

Colonial American Bank has announced that W. Christopher Horn, of Manasquan, has joined the bank as senior vice president/residential mortgage department manager.   Read more
