FinCEN Publishes Proposal to Update FBAR

FinCEN has published a proposal to update the current Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) to standardize it with other BSA electronically filed reports. The proposal adds the capability for a third party preparer to file the report should the owner of the foreign account wish to employ this new option.    Read more

Center Bancorp, Inc. Announces Key Executive Promotions

                 

Center Bancorp, Inc. the parent company of Union Center National Bank announced the promotion of a number of individuals to key positions within the organization. Mark S. Cardone, who held the title of senior vice president, retail banking services, was named first senior vice president; a newly created title at the Bank. Michael J. McGrover, who held the title of senior vice president and senior lender, was promoted to first senior vice president. France Delle Donne, who held the title of vice president, communications and public relations, was named to senior vice president. Joseph D. Gangemi, who held the title of vice president, investor relations, and corporate secretary, was promoted to senior vice president and chief of staff; a newly created position.   Read more

OceanFirst Financial Hires Former Chief Executive of Patriot National Bancorp, Christopher Maher as President

Christopher Maher will become president and chief operating officer of OceanFirst and its $2.3 billion-asset bank on March 25, the company said. OceanFirst began a regional search to fill the role last August, after Vito Nardelli stepped down.

Columbia Bank Foundation Grant Supports People to People Foundation of Gloucester County

Columbia Bank, through their Columbia Bank Foundation, has presented a $12,600 grant to the People to People Foundation of Gloucester County, Inc. The community grant was used to underwrite their computer and technology upgrade program. People to People’s mission is to provide financial and advocacy assistance to Gloucester Country residents who have experienced a financial hardship due to loss of employment, sickness, accident, fire or other unforeseen emergency.

Lakeland Bank Staff Donate to Meals On Wheels

Lakeland Bank staff members who participated in the Company’s monthly “Jeans Day” fundraiser, raised $3,000 in January to support the Meals On Wheels programs in the communities the Bank serves. The donation will be split among Meals on Wheels programs in Bergen, Essex, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and Warren Counties and used to further their mission to provide nutritious meals and other supportive services to both the homebound and senior nutrition center participants.   Read more

Wells Fargo Announces 2012 Contributions of Over $5 Million in New Jersey

Wells Fargo & Company announced that its contributions to New Jersey non-profits totaled $5.2 million in 2012. This total includes $2 million in grants from the Wells Fargo Regional Foundation, based in Philadelphia, as well as holiday contributions to New Jersey food banks and homeless shelters. Grants were given to support non-profits involved in such areas as community development, education, health and human services, arts and culture and environmental initiatives.    Read more
