Last week, thirty NJBankers members and staff participated in the American Bankers Government Relations Summit. The Summit, an annual event, boasted over 1000 bankers from across the Nation.

NJBankers President and CEO, John E. McWeeney Jr., lead a 30 member delegation of bankers to the Capitol to meet with our State Delegation. Bankers raised important concerns to the members of Congress and highlighted the work that banks have done in the recovery from Sandy. We believe that the Hill visits went exceedingly well and are in the process of following up to ensure the momentum gained by the meetings is not lost. Read more

Fed Beige Book: Overall Economic Activity Expanded at a Moderate Pace

The New York District noted widespread increases in loan demand, particularly for commercial loans and residential mortgages. The Philadelphia District, however, indicated that loan volumes softened somewhat since the previous report.   Read more

The health insurance landscape is constantly changing making it difficult to keep track of all the opportunities available. In 2014, changes set in motion by the Affordable Care Act (ACA) may lead to dramatic increases in premiums. Factors such as essential health benefits, maximum plan deductibles, the application of new taxes and fees, and new rating rules will combine to push insurance premiums up substantially for some small businesses. The rate impact can vary. Aetna has just announced a Premium Savings program that can help provide cost savings during this time of change. NVE Bank Donates $15,000 to Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund


NVE Bank has announced that it will make a $15,000 contribution to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund. NJBankers and Allstate New Jersey Continue to "Restore the Shore"

NJBankers and Allstate New Jersey have extended the Jersey Shore Relief - Restore the Shore Promotion exclusively for the member employees of NJBankers and associate members.  One auto quote will generate $30 to the Jersey Shore Relief Fund on the employee's behalf. NJBankers Members Support Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation Program

NJBankers Assocation members are helping to reduce crime in nursing homes by supporting the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation’s Senior Crimestoppers program. New Jersey nursing home facilities participating in the program experience an overall reduction in crime incidents of 95.53%. NJBankers members who support the Senior Crimestoppers program include Valley National Bank- Wayne, Sturdy Savings Bank- Cape May Court House, N.J.M Bank, FSB- West Trenton, Community Bank of Bergen County- Rochelle Park, Manasquan Savings Bank- Wall Township, Kearny Federal Savings Bank- Fairfield, Central Jersey Bank- Oakhurst, Unity Bank- Clinton, Amboy Bank- Old Bridge, and Lakeland Bank- Old Ridge.
