Last week, thirty NJBankers members and staff participated in the American Bankers Government Relations Summit. The Summit, an annual event, boasted over 1000 bankers from across the Nation.
NJBankers President and CEO, John E. McWeeney Jr., lead a 30 member delegation of bankers to the Capitol to meet with our State Delegation. Bankers raised important concerns to the members of Congress and highlighted the work that banks have done in the recovery from Sandy. We believe that the Hill visits went exceedingly well and are in the process of following up to ensure the momentum gained by the meetings is not lost. Read more |

The Englewood-based Mutual bank launched a fund raising campaign in late 2012 to raise funds to assist those devastated by the effects of Superstorm Sandy and to match dollars raised through donations made to the bank on behalf of the charity. NJBankers Assocation members are helping to reduce crime in nursing homes by supporting the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation’s Senior Crimestoppers program. New Jersey nursing home facilities participating in the program experience an overall reduction in crime incidents of 95.53%.
