In Memoriam - Domenick Cama's Father

With sadness, we report the passing of the father of Domenick Cama (Senior EVP, COO Investors Bank), Domenick R. Cama, 84, of Brick, N.J. on August 26, 2013. Visitation hours are Wednesday, August 28th and Thursday, August 29th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30th at St. Dominic R.C. Church, Brick. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel.   Read more

FinCEN 2012 SAR Data Reveals Drop in Suspected Mortgage Fraud

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) released an analysis of Mortgage Fraud SAR Filings in Calendar Year 2012. FinCEN’s data on suspected mortgage fraud shows that reports declined 25 percent in 2012 (from 92,561 to 69,277) as compared to the previous year.    Read more

OCC Revises CRE Lending Booklet

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has issued a revised version of the commercial real estate lending booklet that is part of the Comptroller’s Handbook. The booklet replaces a previous edition -- covering CRE and construction lending -- last issued in 1995, as well as related sections of the former Office of Thrift Supervision's exam handbook.   Read more

NJBankers Associate Member Orientation and "2nd Annual Asphalt in August" Picnic a Success!



On August 23rd, NJBankers hosted two Associate Member Welcome Orientations for new associate members who joined the association from March 2013 to present.  In addition to the day’s core meetings, all associate members were invited to join association staff for the second Annual NJBankers "Asphalt in August" picnic at our Cranford office.  It turned out to be a great day to welcome and meet with associate members who represented 19 firms.   Read more

Columbia Bank "Teams Up" With Eva's Village Hot Meal Program

This volunteer crew of Columbia Bank employees recently teamed up with Eva’s Village in Paterson to help feed poor and homeless individuals within the greater Paterson area.  Throughout their lunchtime shift, the Columbia volunteers served over 400 hot meals.   Read more

Magyar Bank Holds Food Drive for MCFOODS

Magyar Bank recently completed a food drive for MCFOODS, the Middlesex County organization that supplies food products to food banks and soup kitchens in the area.  While the need is always high year-round, summer is particularly challenging for food banks.  Children who would regularly receive breakfast and lunch at school are home during the summer months, resulting in an increase in demand for area food banks.   Magyar customers and employees donated non-perishable items at each of Magyar’s Middlesex County locations.

The Provident Bank Makes Donation to Seton Hall University Jr. MBA Program
