2015 New Jersey Financial Institutions Compensation Survey
James M. Meredith, Executive Vice President & COO, New Jersey Bankers Association

The New Jersey Bankers Association is pleased to partner again with Crowe Horwath LLP to provide members with the 2015 Financial Institutions Compensation Survey.  Last year’s survey was well received by our members and demonstrated the value of detailed information on salaries, benefits and human resource practices.  We strongly encourage your participation for this year’s report.  With completion and purchase of this survey, you will obtain descriptions and useful benchmarks of compensation for 239 positions.  You will also better understand the compensation, incentives, benefits and human resource practices of financial institutions.  By participating in the survey, members will receive the survey results at a substantial discount and you will help make the survey better for all participants.  Please be assured that any information provided will be retained confidentially and securely!

We appreciate your participation in the survey and we are offering the survey reports at significant savings to participants.  In addition to a report for the state of New Jersey, Crowe will also have a Comprehensive Report available based on financial institutions in multiple states.  You can participate in and purchase either the Compensation & Benefits Reports or the Salary Survey or both.  Please respond to compensation.survey@crowehorwath.com to confirm your participation and the Crowe team will forward, via e-mail, the survey for your completion.  If you have any questions, please contact Jim Meredith at NJBankers (908.272.8500, ext. 614; jmeredith@njbankers.com)

NJBankers Endorses KeyState’s Captive Insurance Program
NJBankers has endorsed KeyState’s Bank Captive Program, making it the eleventh state banking association or their for profit subsidiary to endorse the program.  This program allows banks with $450 MM and above in assets to form their own captive insurance company.  The captive augments a bank’s commercial policies by covering the existing commercial deductible layers, increasing coverage levels on existing policies (excess layers), and identifying other currently unfunded risks to insure where commercial insurance is not available to the bank. The captive insurance company is implemented by Crowe Horwath LLP, and then managed on an ongoing basis by KeyState Captive Management.  If properly structured, the captive may also allow the bank to take advantage of a significant small business incentive available under a section of the tax code.

KeyState plans to expand the program in late 2015 and launch a smaller bank captive program for banks with $250 to $450 million in assets. For more information, please contact Josh Miller at 702.598.3738.
