O'Shea Honored with Forrey-Gallman Award at Annual Conference |

On behalf of the NJBankers Board of Directors and membership, President John E. McWeeney, Jr. presented the 2015 Forrey-Gallman Award to Mortimer O'Shea, director of Haven Savings Bank, at the Second General Session. Mort had previously served on the New Jersey Bankers Associations Board of Directors. The following members have been appointed to continue the Associations successes.
Newly and Reelected Board Members: Chairman Gerald Reeves congratulated those recently elected and reelected to the Board of Directors: Anthony Labozzetta, Sussex Bank; Peter Michelotti, Community Bank of Bergen County; Edward Dietzler, Bank of Princeton; Peter Schoberl, Community First Bank; and Kathleen Stone, Susquehanna Bank.
Board Appointments: The Board appointed two members to the Board of Directors to serve a two-year term; David Hemple, president & CEO, Century Savings Bank, to fill a Class B vacancy; and Louis Anthony (Tony) Constantino, Jr., Managing Director, Industry Manager, J.P. Morgan, to fill an at-large position.
Executive Committee Appointments: Additionally, the Board appointed the following Board members, who along with the officers to serve on the Executive Committee for the upcoming fiscal year: Craig Montanaro, Kearny FSB; John Fitzgerald, Magyar Bank; and Tony Constantino, Jr., J.P. Morgan Chase, N.A..
New Jersey Charitable Foundation Appointments: The Board also appointed members of the Executive Committee to serve as trustees of the New Jersey Bankers Charitable Foundation along with Chairman Robert Stillwell, Boiling Springs Savings Bank, Sam Damiano, Haven Savings Bank, Jim Silkensen, Somerset Savings Bank and John McWeeney, Jr. and James Meredith, NJBankers. |

Federal Home Loan Bank of New York Declares a 4.10% Dividend for the First Quarter of 2015
José R. González, president and CEO of The Federal Home Loan Bank of New York was pleased to announce that, on May 21, 2015, your Board of Directors approved a dividend for the first quarter of 2015 of 4.10% (annualized). The dollar amount of the dividend will be approximately $56.0 million. The cash dividend will be distributed on May 22, 2015. |

New Community Outreach Tool Created to Protect the Elderly From Financial Exploitation
A recent study published by MetLife Mature Market Institute estimates that the financial loss by victims of elder financial crimes and exploitation is more than $2.9 billion a year with approximately 2 million seniors being exploited. Awareness of elder financial abuse is growing and bankers are often relied upon as the front line of defense in the protection of bank customers, and as a provider of prevention education and information for their elderly customers and their adult children. This report is available to members. |

Monday June 8th from 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM includes light breakfast, lunch and working in pairs in a prearranged Asbury Park elementary school classroom, teaching and leading hands-on curriculum and activities around money management, doing business, how an economy works, and so much more.
