Rob Nichols Named New ABA President and CEO
The American Bankers Association (ABA) Board of Directors announced that it has unanimously selected Rob Nichols as the ABA’s new President and CEO. Nichols, a former Senate confirmed Treasury Department official, currently heads the Financial Services Forum.

ABA Offers Free Course on TRID Compliance
The American Bankers Association has added a new online course on the TILA-RESPA integrated disclosures to its free Frontline Compliance Training program. Since all customer-facing staff who discuss mortgage products or take loan applications will need to understand and be able to explain the new TRID forms, this course is designed to provide bank employees with an overview of the new forms and requirements. ABA, ICBA Oppose Back-Door Increase in CU Business Lending
The American Bankers Association and the Independent Community Bankers of America wrote to the House Appropriations Committee opposing the use of the congressional spending process as a back door for a credit union-backed provision to further expand credit union business lending privileges. 

NJ Statewide Connecting With the Community Reinvestment Act Conference
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation invite you to attend a conference that will bring together regulators, financial institutions, nonprofits and public agencies within New Jersey for a day-long discussion on community economic development and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).  

IRS Presents 2015 Mid-Atlantic Anti-Money Laundering Conference
The Ninth Annual Mid-Atlantic Anti-Money Laundering (MAAML) Conference will take place at the Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City, 1250 South Hayes Street, Arlington, Virginia, 22202, July 28 and 29, 2015. New Community Outreach Tool Created to Protect the Elderly From Financial Exploitation
A recent study published by MetLife Mature Market Institute estimates that the financial loss by victims of elder financial crimes and exploitation is more than $2.9 billion a year with approximately 2 million seniors being exploited. Awareness of elder financial abuse is growing and bankers are often relied upon as the front line of defense in the protection of bank customers, and as a provider of prevention education and information for their elderly customers and their adult children.

Rutgers Presents 3rd Annual Grant-Funded Training Showcase

The Rutgers University Office of Continuing Professional Education will be holding its 3rd Annual Training Showcase on Thursday, July 16, 2015.  The Showcase will feature some of the courses available through NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development Training Grants, an opportunity to network with other professions, meet the OCPE staff and instructors, and schedule classes.  Attendees will experience mini versions of courses facilitated by the actual instructors.
