NJBankers was well-represented on the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce October 15th Panel, “Money: To Lend or Not to Lend”. NJBankers President & CEO John McWeeney moderated the panel which included Jim Hyman, President & CEO of Hopewell Valley Community Bank, Tim Thompson, Senior Vice President of Investors Bank and Nick Del Deo, Senior Vice President of Principis Capital, LLC. Brian W. Jones to be Honored with Humanitarian Award
The board of directors of the Volunteer Center of South Jersey has selected Brian W. Jones, president & CEO of The First National Bank of Elmer as the 2015 recipient of the South Jersey Humanitarian Award. He will be honored with one of the state's most prestigious awards at the gala fifth annual "Spirit of Community" event Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Mansion in Voorhees.

Consumer Survey: Retailers Should Improve Data Protection
An overwhelming majority -- 94 percent -- of consumers think retailers should take steps to better protect consumer data from hackers, according to an Ipsos Public Affairs survey conducted for ABA. Seventy percent say retailers should be installing EMV chip-enabled card readers as soon as possible. Not surprisingly, consumers also continue to value the zero-liability policies offered by financial institutions, with 81 percent of respondents saying they place value on not being liable for fraudulent charges on their cards.

Federal Reserve Bank of New York Business Leaders' Survey
The New York Business Leaders' Survey is a monthly survey of service firms in New York State, northern New Jersey and southwestern Connecticut, conducted by the New York Fed. The September 2015 Business Leaders Survey indicates that activity in the region’s service sector continued to expand modestly.
