CFPB Releases Fact Sheet on TRID for Construction Loans
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has released a fact sheet that covers the basics of using the TILA-RESPA integrated disclosures for construction loans. The fact sheet includes information on which construction loans are covered by TRID (open-end transactions or loans for a commercial purpose are not covered), as well as existing provisions for construction loan disclosures and guidance on disclosures for a loan with permanent financing as either one or two loans.
Federal Reserve Bank of New York's Study Shows Consumers Anticipate Lower Spending Growth
Americans’ expectations for how much more they will spend next year fell in December to 2.9 percent, the lowest level since the survey’s inception in 2013 and down sharply from 3.5 percent in November, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s monthly Survey of Consumer Expectations. The outlook for household income growth over the next year also declined in December, landing at 2.3 percent and on a continued decline from early 2015. Credit availability expectations were unchanged from November.

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York's January 2016 Business Leaders Survey indicates that activity in the region’s service sector marginally improved. The survey’s headline business activity index edged up two points to 4.1. The business climate index climbed twelve points to -0.7, signaling that, on balance, respondents viewed the business climate as normal.

Glen Rock Savings Bank Announces Merger with Llewellyn-Edison Savings Bank Has Been Completed
Glen Rock Savings Bank, which has served the personal and commercial banking needs of customers throughout northern New Jersey since 1922, announced that the merger of Llewellyn-Edison Savings Bank into Glen Rock Savings Bank has been completed. All Llewellyn-Edison branches, with two offices located in West Orange and one in Livingston, now operate as Glen Rock Savings Bank.
Lakeland Bancorp Announces Closing of Acquisition of Pascack Bancorp
Lakeland Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ:LBAI) (“Lakeland Bancorp”), the parent company of Lakeland Bank, announced that its acquisition by merger of Pascack Bancorp, Inc. (formerly OTCQX:PSBR), the parent company of Pascack Community Bank, closed upon the filing of a Certificate of Merger with the New Jersey Department of Treasury. Shortly after the merger of the holding companies, Pascack Community Bank merged with and into Lakeland Bank.
Northfield Bancorp Completes Merger with Hopewell Valley Community Bank
Northfield Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq: NFBK) (“Northfield”), the holding company for Northfield Bank, announced the closing of its acquisition of Hopewell Valley Community Bank (“Hopewell Valley”). As a result of the merger, Hopewell Valley Community Bank will operate as a Division of Northfield Bank. It is anticipated that Hopewell Valley will assume the Northfield Bank name and brand when the integration of the data processing systems is complete, which is expected in April 2016.
