FASB Issues Proposal to Improve Hedge Accounting
The Financial Accounting Standards Board issued the final proposal in its three-pronged effort to address bank accounting that started in 2010. Having issued new standards this year on classification and measurement and loan impairment, FASB issued its exposure draft to improve and expand the use of hedge accounting.
FinCEN Issues Advisory on Email Compromise Fraud
With email compromise schemes -- in which criminals fraudulently persuade individuals and companies to transfer funds -- on the rise, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network issued an advisory to financial institutions to help them identify and prevent these frauds.
OCC Seeks Nominations for Minority, Mutual Advisory Boards
The OCC is seeking nominations for members of the Mutual Savings Association Advisory Committee (MSAAC) and the Minority Depository Institutions Advisory Committee (MDIAC).

NJBankers recognizes the importance of providing broad exposure to the challenges and opportunities faced by today’s bank directors and has partnered with FinPro, Inc., a leading strategic consulting and capital markets firm, to develop a multi-faceted educational program, the Directors Certification Program. The Program provides an annual certification designation to those directors that meet participation criteria. The Program is an extension of FinPro’s Leadership and Education division.
