New Jersey Bankers Association
2018 Warren Hill Award Winners Announced

The Warren Hill Award was established in 1998 in honor of Warren Hill, the New Jersey League’s president from 1966 through 1975. The Award is presented to a current or former committee member who has demonstrated an overall commitment to meeting the mission of the committee, including providing assistance to NJBankers legislative and regulatory efforts and in developing educational content for NJBankers members. Other criteria considered are the member's effectiveness in recruiting new members to the committee and his/her role in assisting staff in new member or associate member recruitment efforts.

This year, there are two recipients of the Award.

Tracey Echavarria is a Vice President at Northfield Bank responsible for Home Equity and Residential Lending. Tammara Feldman is the Loan Servicing Manager at Amboy Bank. Tracey and Tammara are Co-Chairmen of the Residential Lending/Loan Servicing Committee.

The award will be presented to Tracey and Tammara at the NJBankers Senior Management Conference which will be held at the Borgata Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City September 24-25, 2018.

Congratulations from all of us at NJBankers, Tracey and Tammara!

Congratulations to our Annual Conference Evaluation Winners!

The NJBankers Annual Conference on Marco Island was an outright success according to the evaluations gathered from the event. Attendees were encouraged to submit their evaluations because comments help NJBankers plan conferences that are relevant and timely. The evaluations also help drive future conference locations. The Association wants to know if guests were comfortable and the facility accommodating.

To drive completion of evaluations, NJBankers offered a prize of a free registration for an attendee and spouse to the next Annual Conference which will be at the BroAdmoor in Colorado.

Congratulations to Jim Doyle, a Director of Oritani Bank. He and his spouse Joan are the winners of the free registration valued at $1,700! See you next year Jim and Joan!

Exhibitors who also helped us plan for the future by completing an evaluation were Gen Caruso of Travelers and Rich Marquez of FIS who each won $100. Congratulations and thanks for your support!

Thank you for your support!

After the 2Q data have shown a resurgent consumer and an ever-tightening labor market, the potential for above-3% growth in the near-term appears increasingly likely.  Despite this, wage growth continues to remain sluggish although there has been modest improvement in the first half of the year.  With this as the backdrop, the Fed has hiked its target rate range again and raised its forward hike projections causing the yield curve to flatten even further.  In our 3Q Economic Outlook, we will look briefly at the economic developments and the Fed’s monetary policy response, and dig more deeply into the implications of a flattening yield curve.
