Constantine G. Callas Progressive Educational and Work Ethic Memorial Scholarship Winner Announced

George Callas of The Invictus Group announced Pamela Fink, VP, Small Business Relationship Manager of Northfield Bank as this year’s scholarship recipient of the Constantine G. Callas Progressive Educational and Work Ethic Memorial Scholarship. Pamela plans on using this scholarship towards her dual Masters in Organizational Leadership and Risk Management. Her career goal is to become a Chief Risk Officer.

Named for his father, George is pleased to be able to offer this scholarship to enhance the careers of bankers as they seek higher learning opportunities. NJBankers thanks George for providing this opportunity to continue one’s education.

The FDIC and OCC Present a CRA and Disaster Recovery Forum for New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania
Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM ET - Webinar
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency will host a forum to highlight disaster recovery assistance programs, resources, and activities that may be responsive to the needs of low- and moderate-income households and small businesses impacted by the remnants of Hurricane Ida in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and eligible for CRA consideration.  Financial institutions serving the New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania markets should plan to attend.

Federal Reserve Bank of New York Business Leaders Survey
Growth in the region’s service sector remained modest, according to firms responding to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s October 2021 Business Leaders Survey. The survey’s headline business activity index was little changed at 15.2. The business climate index came in at -8.6, indicating that firms generally viewed the business climate as worse than normal for this time of year.

New Policies for all In-Person Events

• NJBankers in-person events will require all attendees, speakers, guests, and NJBankers/BCG staff be fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to the start of the event, or to have tested negative for COVID no more than 72 hours prior to the start of the event.  All attendees will be required to present proof of either their vaccine or negative test prior to accessing the event. 
• An email will be sent prior to all events detailing these policies and highlighting any changes that will be updated on our website
• While not a requirement, NJBankers encourages all attendees, speakers, guests and NJBankers/BCG staff to wear masks while indoors regardless of vaccination status
• If you show signs of a fever, cough or respiratory issues, we ask that you not attend an event
• If you become ill at an  event, we ask you let a member of NJBankers management team know and leave the event
• No exceptions will be made to these requirements (religious and medical exemptions must show proof of negative COVID test as noted above)
