The Bankers Cup was a Real Hole-in-one

The NJBankers golf tournament for The Bankers Cup may have ended after 12 holes due to stormy weather but that certainly didn’t stop the golfers from enjoying a day of play, fun, food and prizes. Golfers enjoyed a barbecue lunch and were treated to a reception of heavy hors d’oeuvres and a buffet dinner. Door prizes rounded out the evening. Thank you to all who contributed a prize!

We are pleased to announce that the winners of The Bankers Cup (drum roll please) are Nina Anuario, Mark Tasy, Adrian Fanning and John McDonagh from OceanFirst Bank who played on the Meadow Course.

Many thanks to “Golf Chairman”  Jim Hughes, president/CEO, Unity Bank, who secured the golf course, Fiddler’s Elbow. He also emceed the event.

The winners on the River Course were Ed Dietzler, Jeff Hanuscin, Dan O’Donnell and Doug Conover of The Bank of Princeton.

Congratulations all!

We are also pleased to announce the team that placed last (at least they placed!) Kudos to NJBankers’ own Mike Affuso; Diane Scriveri, Freedom Bank; Mike Catania, Freedom Bank and Chuck Kronmiller, RSM. We suggested that they pack up their golf clubs and take up paddle ball!

Joe Coccaro, president/CEO of Bogota Savings Bank, was kind enough to golf with everyone at the tournament so NJBankers staff did their best to accommodate. It was a good time for all (especially the staff!)  Joe, you have a great sense of humor and we appreciate you being such a good sport! We hope you had a lot of fun!

(and the Right Analytics)
Kamal Mustafa, Chairman & CEO, Invictus Group
Community bankers have seen it all in the last decade, as an unprecedented monetary policy reshaped their balance sheets. Each phase of the ever-shifting banking environment offered a new challenge and a new opportunity, whether it was to grow loans in a flat yield curve, or to chase deposits as interest rates returned. But with such swings, operational adjustments take too long, leaving banks headed in the wrong direction just as the fiscal and political environment shifts again. Attendees of this session will learn how to use M&A with the right analytics that can quantify events that have never happened before and adapt to existing and unexpected conditions.
