Nominate to Show You Appreciate a New or Improved Product
The 2006 NSPE New Product Award program is now inviting entries for exemplary new products that demonstrate the innovative use of engineering principles and provide overall benefits to society through February 15.
Now in its 24th year, the program was developed and is coordinated by NSPE's Professional Engineers in Industry practice division in an effort to recognize new and improved products that stimulate the life and growth of the U.S.
Any new product, machine, process, or material that has been developed or manufactured only in the U.S. may be entered, provided that it was first placed on the market between 2001 and 2005. Entries are judged on annual sales and economic impact, innovative use of engineering principles, and improved function.
Further information and nomination forms are available on the NSPE Web site or can be obtained by contacting PEI Practice Division Manager Erin Garcia.

Continuing Education Offers Most Popular Topics in Webinars
Each seminar offers great information, specific lessons, stories of how other professional engineers made the ideas and systems work for them, and opportunities to participate in the class dialogue. It all happens in the convenience of your office. The series was created as a big picture on the most important issues and areas of greatest opportunities or struggles for engineers in construction. These seminars present the topics you want to discuss and resolve.
If you sign up for two or more Web seminars in the series, you will experience the way each lesson and each instructor combines expertise and "need to know" information to make the learning even more interesting for you. If you’ve watched any television series, you know how each episode is its own story and it builds on a larger story that makes it a series. That’s how PEC created these five Web seminars.
Introduction to Construction Disputes and Claims Avoidance and Resolution for Owners, Engineer and Contractors December 14, 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. E.S.T. Instructor: Carl Meglan, P.E., founder and limited partner of Meglan, Meglan & Company, Limited and national authority in disputes, claims avoidance, and resolutions.

Instructor: David Hunley, P.E., Connico Incorporated. Trends in Construction Professionalism April 19, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. E.S.T. Instructor: E. Terry Foster, Ph.D., P.E., C.P.C., is a national authority on structural engineering, computer networks, materials science, engineering mechanics, CAD, computer applications, and aviation.
There are other major benefits that go directly into your business when you register for several seminars at one time. Because each registration is good for one connection point at your office, you can invite others to join you, where you have the phone line and computer set up, to learn.
Make it your best year yet. Save the gas and time it takes to travel to top-quality seminars to continue your professional education and secure credits for renewing your PE status.
