WNY Primier Garden & Landscape Show
The Official Sponser of Spring!

Through the Ages
is this year's theme of
Western New York's

premier gardening event
March 23 - 26

Garden sizes, shapes and crops have changed through the centuries. They have evolved from a simple hole in the ground to more elaborate configurations, raised beds, containers and more.

Gardeners have changed as well. They have gotten more educated about plant requirements, garden design and environmentally sound practices.

What hasn't changed is an interest in gardening... no matter what the age!

Most plants start from a seed. What better way to introduce a child to gardening than to have them plant seeds indoors for transplanting to an outdoor setting later. You might also introduce them to miniature or fairy gardening. Simple gardens can be planted in small containers where children can add figurines and objects that tell a story.

Adults are more aggressive in their gardening prowress and may seek larger plants and create larger gardens, both indoor and out. They too, may create miniature gardens or build terrariums for themselves or as gifts.

Seniors is our oldest group of gardeners. Downsizing or health issues may have a bearing on the extent of gardening for this group. A porch or patio container may provide a perfectly beautiful and manageable garden.

Mischler's has the plants for all ages! This year we will feature a broad selection of succulents and terrarium plants. We will also debut a collection of terrarium and mini garden kits for all ages.

Plantasia, featuring two buildings housing over 175  vendors offering plants, garden decor, accessories and more, starts Thursday, March 23 at the Event Center at the Fairgrounds, 5820 South Park Avenue, Hamburg, NY.

Enjoy Theme Gardens with blooming trees, shrubs and flowers and water gardens, FREE Education Seminars given by Certified Nursery & Landscape Professionals and garden experts. There will be a Children's Discovery Garden with play area, a Garden Market where you can shop for garden accessories and services and Special Events including nightly entertainment, live broadcasts and more.

This year's theme,"Gardens Through the Ages", is sure to get the wheels turning with new ideas for your gardening experience! Mark your calendar for this inspiring event, March 23 - 26 and be sure to visit Mischler's booths 77 & 78, near the Children's Discovery Garden, at Plantasia 2017!

Our Floral Shop
Hospice Spring Bouquet Sale

Hospice is a compassionate approach to care whose goal is to help people with a serious illness live life fully, maintain their dignity and keep control over their lives.

In medieval times, hospices were inns of rest which "lodged, cherished and refreshed" the sick and the dying. Today, Hospice provides medical care, emotional and spiritual support to people and their families facing a life-limiting illness in homes, hospitals, adult facilities, nursing homes, group homes and hospice residences such as Hospice Buffalo House at Mitchell & St. John Baptist/Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Hospice is available to any one with an illness whose life expectancy is measured in months, rather than years.

Mischler's was one of the first florists to sign up for the first sale and has been participating every year since 1986. Frank Mischler, Mischler's president, continues to serve on the bouquet committee.

Mischler's will be selling the regular bouquets for $8.00 as well as the large Tribute Bouquet for $30.00.

Everyone's A Little Irish!
The Gift of St. Patrick

Wish your
Irish friends a
Happy St. Patrick's Day
with a floral gift from

 Give a shamrock
to your friends
this St. Patty's Day.

In Ireland, the shamrock, a three-sided clover, has long been part of Irish folklore and is commonly associated with good luck.

In America, Oxalis tetraphylla (lucky clover), is the nifty clover look-alike available in our Garden Center during the month of March.

The plant has green leaves with white blooms that are displayed profusely in spring and early summer, then intermittently for the remainder of the season.

Visit our St. Patrick's Day page on Mischler's website for more great selections for your St. Patty's Day floral gifts.
