Retailers Feel the Dog Days of Summer

The months of July, August and September really were for the dogs in terms of monthly sales levels at retail florists in 2006. Along with January, these three summer months each experienced sales below $500 million. Sales peaked in May at $902 million and in February, when Valentine's Day occurs, at $774 million.
