SAF Responds to Hilton ... Again

SAF sent another letter to the Hilton Hotels after two members alerted SAF that the hotel chain was still using comment cards stating: "Skip the Flowers. Say it with Words."

SAF responded to the same comment card in July of 2006 and received a response from Leslie Beck, Hilton's director of recognition. She replied, "It was obviously not our intention to make disparaging remarks about the floral industry, or any other industry ...  of course, this statement will not be part of the 2007 campaign."

"It seems the cards are part of the 2007 campaign," writes SAF in its most recent response. "This campaign continues to concern our members ... On behalf of the floral industry, SAF requests that you reconsider this negative approach to your advertising strategies."
