Status of State Deceptive Listing Legislation

Twenty-two states have passed legislation prohibiting deceptive telephone listings, an issue strongly supported by the industry and SAF. Currently two states, North Carolina and California, have legislation pending that would regulate the practice of businesses misrepresenting stores' names and locations in phone books and masquerading as local businesses. Get more information on deceptive listings legislation.
