Sweetest Day and National Bosses Day
Preliminary results of SAF's ongoing online post-holiday survey indicate that only 23 percent of retail florists offered specials for Sweetest Day while 38 percent offered specials for National Bosses Day. However, there were sizeable variations based on region of the country.
Sweetest Day is celebrated mostly in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin — the East North Central region. It is virtually ignored in the South Atlantic region.
National Bosses Day is most celebrated in the East and West South Central states (Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee; and Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas, respectively). It is least celebrated in New England.
