Top 10 Positive Factors

The 50 percent of retail florists reporting increased sales last Christmas attributed their good fortunes to a number of factors. Chief among their top 10 factors were increased shop reputation (56 percent), word-of-mouth buzz (46 percent) and store advertising (36 percent). Next came two factors that were not under the control of those businesses: weather (34 percent) and the regional economy (31 percent). Various types of customer sales came next, in order, walk-in sales (30 percent), wire-in orders (28 percent), online (Web-site) sales (28 percent) and corporate sales (26 percent). The 10 top factors were rounded out by product quality (24 percent).
